STEPPING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

HOW TO USE FEAR?

STEPPING OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

The only way you can grow and expand is when you intentionally make an effort to learn and when you do things that are out of your comfort zone. Just remember the first time you had to talk to a group of people, facilitate a very important meeting, take a flight or even talk to a stranger. How did you feel? Scared? Nervous? A little stressed? This is natural. But things change after 3rd, 4th or 10th time, you know what to expect and these emotions usually take the back seat. You get more comfortable. Every time you’re stepping out of your comfort zone is when you learn new things and create new habits and beliefs.

But why so many times are we so afraid to take that step to shift our beliefs and accomplish great things? Many people are comfortable with the life they have and they’re not willing or see no need to have more. Others, however, have created mental barriers that often prevent them from action. So how to deal with fear? Here is what you can do. Instead of letting the fear of the unknown control you, make it your friend and your guide. Fear usually exists when certain things need to change in you. When you feel fear it can mean that you dislike being judged which may make you feel down, you’re a perfectionist and that whatever you do it has to be perfect the first time you do it, or it can mean that something may not be on your top priority list and you create space for fear stop you. If you’re dealing with any of these, take a closer look at what exactly needs to change. Dig into the true emotions hidden behind the fear and address them; don’t ignore or suppress them, but understand where they’re coming from so you can deal accordingly the next time they arise. The next very important thing to do is to prioritize the things you want and know exactly WHY you want them, why is this a must have for you. If you really truly want something, there is nothing in the world that can stop you from getting it.
